The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
