A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 Will be in the scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then you erring ones, you that cried lies, 51 you shall eat of a tree called Zakkoum, 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74
