▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew; 76 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an 77 In a Book kept hidden 78 which none can touch except the purified. 79 (This Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent 81 And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false? 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat of the dying 83 and you are watching at that time 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 And if one happens to be of those who have attained to righteousness, 90 Then upon you is the greetings of peace (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), from those on the right. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 He will burn in Hell. 94 Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
