Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 And assuredly We have bedecked the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for satans: and for them We have gotten ready the torment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 'Yes, indeed' they will reply, 'but we belied the Warner (Messenger) saying: 'Allah has not sent down anything, you are but in great error' 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Lo! those who fear their Lord in secret, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
