He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance He has provided. To Him will you be resurrected. 15 Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, the while it rocks? 16 Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning. 17 Those who came before them also gave the lie (to the Messengers): then how awesome was My chastisement! 18 Do they not see the birds above them spreading and closing their wings? None save the Merciful sustains them. Surely, He observes all things. 19 Or which army do you have that will help you against the Most Gracious? The disbelievers are in nothing except an illusion. 20 Or who is it that will give you sustenance if He should withhold His sustenance? Nay! they persist in disdain and aversion. 21 Is he who walks grovelling upon his face better guided, or he who walks upright upon a straight path? 22 Say, "It is He who brought you into being, and made ears and eyes and hearts for you, yet you are seldom grateful." 23 Say, "It is God who has settled you on the earth and to Him you will be resurrected". 24 And they say: When shall this threat be (executed) if you are truthful? 25 Say: 'The knowledge (of that) is with Allah; I am only a clear warner' 26 Yet in the end, when they shall see that [fulfilment] close at hand, the faces of those who were bent on denying the truth will be stricken with grief; and they will be told, "This it is that you were [so derisively] calling for!" 27 Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered: whether Allah should cause my death and those with me or have mercy upon us, who can protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?" 28 Say: 'He is the Merciful. In Him we believe and in Him we put all our trust. Indeed, you shall soon know who is in clear error' 29 Say: Have ye thought: If (all) your water were to disappear into the earth, who then could bring you gushing water? 30
