But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 (It will be said to them) “And you will not benefit from them this day, whereas you are unjust – for you are all partners in the punishment.” 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 Whether We take thee away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Rather We will certainly show you that which We have promised them; for surely We are the possessors of full power over them. 42 So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the right path, 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
