Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
