Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
