Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
