Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
