Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a high Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
