The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
