Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
