Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
