Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
