Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 Yet [thus it is] that whenever a servant of God stands up in prayer to Him, they [who are bent on denying the truth] would gladly overwhelm him with their crowds. 19
