Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
