They will ask you about Dhu'l-Qarnayn. Say, "I will give you an account of him." 83 Verily, We established him in the earth, and We gave him the means of everything. 84 and so he chose the right means [in whatever he did]. 85 to the West where he found the sun setting into a warm source (spring) of water and a people living near by. We asked him, "Dhu 'l-Qarnayn, you may punish them or treat them with kindness?" 86 He answered: "As for him who does wrong [unto others] - him shall we, in time, cause to suffer; and thereupon he shall be referred to his Sustainer, and He will cause him to suffer with unnameable suffering. 87 but whoever believes and does good works shall have a good reward and We shall facilitate his matter by Our command." 88 Then he followed the road, 89 Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun. 90 Thus it was. And surely We have encompassed all that was with him in knowledge 91 Then he followed a way 92 Until, when he reached (a tract) between two mountains, he found, beneath them, a people who scarcely understood a word. 93 They said: O Zul-Qarnain verily Yajuj and Majuj are working corruption in the land; shall we then pay thee tribute on condition that thou place between us and them a barrier! 94 He replied: 'That which my Lord has given me is better, therefore help me with all your power, and I will build a barrier between you and between them. 95 Bring me blocks of iron; until when he had filled up the space between the two mountain sides, he said: Blow, until when he had made it (as) fire, he said: Bring me molten brass which I may pour over it. 96 So Gog and Magog were unable to pass over it, nor were they able [to effect] in it any penetration. 97 He said: 'This is a mercy from my Lord. But when my Lord's promise is come, He will make it dust. The promise of my Lord is true' 98 ۞ On that day, We will let them surge on one another, and the Horn shall be blown, and We will gather them all together. 99 On that Day We shall lay Hell bare before those who deny the truth, 100 whose eyes had become blind against My admonition and who were utterly disinclined to hear it. 101
