No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
