▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humankind, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
