By no means! By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
