No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
