The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When our signs are recited to him, he says, 'Fairy-tales of the ancients!' 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 a written record, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
