By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 it is a warning to man, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
