▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the sinners. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were startled donkeys - 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
