I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
