Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
