Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
