Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
