The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. 6 These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. 20 Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
