The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blaze. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk, 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. 22
