The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire. 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. 15 (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22
