Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
