Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
