The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Neither coolness shall they taste therein nor any [thirst-quenching] drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
