The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
