The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a fitting requital, 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
