The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a fitting requital, 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
