The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 a fitting requital, 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
