The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
