The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 except boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
