The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
