In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
