In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And dense gardens. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
