The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
