The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
