The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
