The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That "Go to Firaun - he has rebelled." 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled and proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
