The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
