The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
