The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
